From the Beginning...
Reiki-Hypnotherapy came about as a way to combine the most effective tools for healing and relaxation. As most of our ailments today derive from stress, I saw it important to alleviate it with as many techniques as I could learn since not all techniques work for everybody. This page describes what Reiki-Hypnotherapy began as, but please be sure to visit our Services page to learn of our other many facets. I'm sure you'll find something that's right for you!
Please read our Testimonials for some insight into the work and what to expect for your experience. And as always, do not hesitate to contact us if you have any questions.
What Reiki-Hypnotherapy Can Do for You
Hypnotherapy can be used in many ways, and is highly effective for reaching many goals: from smoking cessation to integrating new and healthy habits, from weight loss to muscle gain, from lowering your cholesterol to increasing your memory and recall capacity, and even removing dis-ease.
Hypnosis is a deep state of relaxation, an altered state of consciousness, achieved through focused attention. While in this trance-like state, the unconscious mind is highly receptive to new perspectives and ideas; thus, it is an ideal state for the use of imagery and positive suggestion to bring about change.
It is also an ideal time to implement other therapeutic processes, namely, Reiki, since the whole system is already primed for change, for healing.
What is Reiki?
Reiki is an energy healing therapy that treats the whole person – emotionally, physically and spiritually – through the transmission of universal life energy to balance and strengthen the body’s energy centers, or Chakras, based on ancient eastern techniques.
Reiki is Japanese for Universal Life Force, or the energy inherent to all creation. It is an ancient healing art and science. Reiki is a non-manipulative, "hands-on-healing" technique that helps to stimulate immune system function and maximize an individual's innate healing potential.
The profoundly relaxing effects associated with Reiki make it an effective treatment for anxiety, stress, and the management of difficult emotions and addictions. As there are no contraindications, it complements any other form of medical treatment.
Reiki uses specific symbols and hand positions on or above parts of the body that correspond to the major organs and energy centers, such as the heart or adrenal glands. The purpose of Reiki is to increase the self-healing power inherent in all, to directly connect an individual to the universal source, the divine. Therefore, it can be used to improve meditation and prayer techniques as well. It is also useful for treating pets and plants, blessing sacred objects and clearing negative energy.
What to Expect in a Reiki-Hypnotherapy Session
I implement prerecorded hypnotherapy treatments while conducting a Reiki session for optimum benefit. The recordings utilize music with a therapeutic rhythm that induces alpha and theta brainwaves (those typically produced by the brain during meditation and just before falling into deep sleep, respectively). Reiki sessions are also available without the use of hypnosis, just as hypnotherapy may be provided without the use of Reiki.
The Reiki energy usually feels like a warm radiance over your body, which leaves you feeling relaxed and refreshed, with a sense of peace and security. There are no special requirements or limitations to receiving this treatment. Reiki is also highly intuitive – if you don’t know exactly what ails you, the healing energy will find its path to aid you.
Coupled with the altered state of consciousness that you may experience due to the prerecorded hypnotherapy session, you may feel sleepy or disconnected during or after a session. You will be asked to drink plenty of water and ensure appropriate rest after a treatment as the process of treating dis-ease and emotional trauma can be quite taxing and toxic.
Other sessions may employ more counseling as the changes initiated by the energy and hypnosis offer the opportunity for change, and that process may take some adjusting. Of course, we welcome and encourage you to communicate your concerns about any life issue during any session; doing so may develop a deeper understanding of important characteristics and habits, as well as open the door to progress and positive personal evolvement.

"The most fatal illusion is the settled point of view. Since life is growth and motion,
a fixed point of view kills anybody who has one."
